How to Prepare for Exams

Midterms are upon us and finals will be here before you know it! These times of year don't have to be so stressful, though. Leading professors at the University of Central Oklahoma have published a guide to help students of all ages prepare for those pesky exams!

1. Don't read into the questions! If a question seems too easy, you probably just know the material!

2. Make efficient use of time!Don't waste time on questions that are just too hard and leave a few minutes at the end of each test to review answers!

3. Answer the easiest questions first!

4. Know T/F questions! Absolute questions are generally false (always, never, etc) and questions containing the words sometimes, frequently, or often are generally true!

5. Be prepared to fight test anxiety!
• Prepare your own pre-test/practice exam.
• Have someone test you verbally.
• Breathe deeply/exhale slowly or make a fist and release slowly to reduce stress.
• Eat right, get enough sleep, limit chemical usage, and exercise.
