Edulection--Where education stands in this year's presidential election

Surprisingly, education has been a relatively absent topic in the debates and discussions leading up to the 2008 presidential election. What are the issues surrounding this once hot-button topic as Obama and McCain try to edge each other out on their way to Pennsylvania Avenue? What is an academic mind to do?

While there are resources out there, one can always find the latest education news in the Education Election blog, maintained by the Education Writers Association. Check it out for all the answers you're searching for. Though the blog does encompass views from the left, right, and everywhere in between, the focus lately has been the Democratic National Convention. You can also see an in depth analysis of the education platforms for both John McCain and Barack Obama.

National CHADD Conference Blog

CHADD, the national support group for Children and Adults with ADHD, is gearing up for it's annual conference. Held in Anaheim, CA this year, I envy anyone and everyone who's able to attend! The CHADD conference is not only being held in a beautiful location, but the wealth of resources available at these events always amazes me. Check out the CHADD blog for entries from speakers and professionals planning this wonderful meeting. It's a tool all in itself!!

Have you heard!?!

Educational Connections, Inc. has opened a second office in Bethesda! Due to the positive feedback and encouragement from our families, our colleagues, and other industry professionals, we felt providing our services in an area closer to those in DC and MD would provide better opportunity to meet student needs outside of northern Virginia.

Our new office is already generating quite a buzz. Tierney Plumb from the Washington Business Journal has published an article about Educational Connections in her column! Click here to check it out!
